Photos of us taking the 1969 Woodstock Festival Fence and transforming it into these beautiful life long lasting pendants:
| We start with chain-link fence preserved from the original 1969 Woodstock Music and arts festival that was held in Bethel, NY. we carefully separate strands of wire from the chain link fence. |
| the wire is then carefully straightened and stretched by hand. |
|
| fence wire is then precision cut and formed into the shapes needed. special precision wire forming machines are used and this whole process is hand operated. we are able to form the eye hooks and rings on these machines. |
|
| all the various parts and shapes needed to make a pendant or key chain. |
| some galvanizing remains on the fence wire and when welded the zinc produces toxic fumes. to eliminate this the parts are chemically and ultrasonically striped of zinc. |
| parts are placed and ready for welding. they are electric welded by heliarc using argon shielding gas. |
| There are a total of five welds made to each piece |
|
after welding the pendants are polished using special media. this process takes 8 to 12 hours. |
| after polishing the cleaning process begins. they are precision cleaned using ultrasonic cleaningequipment and biodegradable soaps. |
